We believe that no one actually experiences the average.

Our end-of-year show discusses three topics: market returns, inflation, and real estate. We compare average historic rates with what is going on today. No surprise, 2021 was outside the norm. But, they won't all be like this. Right?

We find that 2021 demonstrated the "average of none" better than most. Take the U.S. stock market, for example; only during 6 of the past 96 years did investors experience a result close to the average return of 10 percent.
